Nourishing the Season: Eating Healthy Through the Holidays

The holiday season brings joy, celebration, connection — and a lot of food. At QÔL Integrative Health, we believe you don't have to choose between enjoying the holidays and supporting your health. With a few simple strategies, you can do both.

Strategies to Stay Nourished This Season

1. Don't Arrive Hungry

Eat a protein-rich snack before holiday parties. Arriving hungry leads to overeating high-sugar, low-nutrient foods. A handful of nuts or some Greek yogurt beforehand makes a significant difference.

2. Fill Half Your Plate with Vegetables First

At any holiday spread, load up on vegetables, salads, and lean proteins before reaching for the heavier dishes. This ensures you're getting nutrients and fiber before the calorie-dense options.

3. Be Mindful of Alcohol

Alcohol disrupts sleep, raises cortisol, and increases inflammation. If you choose to drink, alternate with water, eat before drinking, and set a limit beforehand.

4. Don't Aim for Perfect — Aim for Consistent

One indulgent meal won't derail your health. It's the pattern over weeks that matters. Enjoy the celebrations, then return to your nourishing habits the next day without guilt.
